Sanusi’s Suspension Is In Order, Says Ozekhome

More people react to Mr. Sanusi’s suspension

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, Mike Ozekhome, on Friday said President Goodluck Jonathan’s suspension of Lamido Sanusi as Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, was legal.

Mr. Ozekhome, who is also a constitutional lawyer said this in an interview in Abuja.

“Constitutionally and legally, what President Jonathan did was correct. He does not require the consent of the National Assembly to do so.

“Anyone who is an employee has to know that he is answerable to his employer. You cannot bite the finger that feeds you.

“The Nigerian Constitution and the CBN Act give the President the authority to suspend or remove the Governor of the CBN,” he said.

Mr. Ozekhome claimed that Mr. Sanusi had deviated from his primary duty of leading the apex bank to the path of monetary stability.

“A governor of a Central Bank in any part of the world should be seen and not heard.

“When he should be heard, he should only be discussing monetary policies which will uplift the economy of his country.

“In Nigeria, what we have is a CBN governor that has been fighting the government of his country,” he said.

Mr. Ozekhome alleged that Mr. Sanusi had been making very provocative and highly derogatory statements about the monetary policies of his own country.

“When you say all that, then how do you want international investors to come to the country, when a very reliable figure is saying all these negative things about his country,” he claimed.

The lawyer alleged that the ousted CBN governor had been acting like a political leader or traditional ruler by donating public funds to universities, political aides and at other functions.

He said Mr. Sanusi was not versatile and had made six mistakes on the missing funds from the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, within the last two months.

“This variation in figures of the missing funds has caused chaos in the country, which is not supposed to be so,” Mr. Ozekhome said.

He said in as much as Mr. Sanusi could lay claim to some notable achievements, it was evident that he still made some notable mistakes.

“People should look at this from all sides. It is easy for people to say Sanusi’s sack was because he exposed the truth. But, no! This is not it.

“When Sanusi became the governor, the exchange rate of the Dollar with the Naira was about N130.

“Today it is anything between N160 to N170 to a dollar. This is the poorest so far in the history of this country,” the lawyer said.

He said it was undeniable that Mr. Sanusi had some good impact on the banking industry “by weeding out bad banks and restructuring the entire banking sector”.

“He has succeeded in that area. No doubt. But his visibility and intrusion into matters that are highly political and have nothing to do with his office are questionable character,” Mr. Ozekhome
said.

Thinking of the Continental African Woman:

My Heart and best thoughts go out to and for the Women of the African Continent for in spite the progressive and non-progressive struggles, failures and successes of the African Men, the African Woman has maintained their support for the African Man; while taking care of African Children in harsh conditions, while maintaining small farms and businesses to feed their children and contribute to the financial needs of their Families and Community.

In The Contemporary Subject of “Africa for Africans,” (Opinion)

By Joe
Africanist folks are wont to throw in everything they’ve got in thoughts and views, including the kitchen sink. The result is a potpourri of related and unrelated ideas like mixing up white, mulatto and albino babies in the maternity ward. The thread by which the fabric of most proponent arguments are woven is the fantasy that Africa should not have been invaded by foreigners or having been, should somehow revert back to the way it was when Cleopatra was still a randy pharaoh in Egypt. And that is the Achilles’ of most proposition on African cosa nostra.

Queen Mothers IN EDO KINGDOM

Queen Mothers were not established in the kingdom of Benin until the end of the Fifteenth century when a great conflict between two sons over the ascension to the throne threatened to destroy the empire. Oba (king) Ozula died and left the throne open to his two sons, Arhuaran, who controlled the city of Udo, and Esigie, who controlled Benin City. It is said that the mother Idia used her magical powers to help Esigie win a war against his brother and also the neighboring Igala people, who wished to take advantage of the Benin kingdom’s state of weakness and attack them. From then on, the mothers of the kings were honored and given powers and prestige in the government of the kingdom. From the story, several of the traditions that surround the Queen Mother can be derived.

White Man Robs Banks Disguised As Black Man

A white guy, disguised as a a black guy, managed to rip off four banks and a CVS in Ohio before he was caught. No, we’re not kidding.
Maybe Conrad Zdzierak was inspired by “Soul Man (1986),” or even Robert Downey Jr.’s performance in “Tropic Thunder” (2008), but the 30-year-old, former Florida resident didn’t rely on tanning pills or surgical procedures, respectively, to darken his skin. Instead he played out his John Dillinger Chaz Williams dreams while wearing a Hollywood style mask (called The Player) that was good enough to fool bank tellers and police into thinking their suspect was an African-American.

SANUSI WAS HELD IN JAIL FOR TWO YEARS FOR BEHEADING AN IBO BOY WHO HE AND HIS GANG ACCUSED OF DESECRATED THE QORAN.

SANUSI WAS HELD IN JAIL FOR TWO YEARS FOR BEHEADING AN IBO BOY WHO HE AND HIS GANG ACCUSED OF DESECRATED THE QORAN. GEN ABACHA, HATED THE TYPE OF ISLAM OF SANUSI

* The regime identified the masterminds, so mandated its hit squad to eliminate the nine, including Sanusi.

Fresh facts have emerged as to why the government of late Sani Abacha did not kill Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), governor, Lamido Sanusi, in 1995, after he and eight other jihadists mobilized crazed extremists to behead Gideon Akaluka in jail.

Akaluka, a young Igbo trader, allegedly desecrated the Koran. He was arrested after his wife allegedly used pages of the Koran as toilet paper for her baby. After he was locked up by the police, a group of Muslim fundamentalists break into the jail, beheaded Akaluka, and paraded his bodiless head around the streets of Kano.

Pointblanknews.com investigation has revealed the role Sanusi, an alleged Boko Haram sympathizer, and proponent of the controversial Islamic Bank, played in the murder of Akaluka, and why the Abacha regime decided to lock him up for two years for the murder of Akaluka.

Sources hinted that shortly after returning from Khartoum, Sudan where he earned a degree in Sharia and Islamic studies, at the International University of Africa, Sanusi became a recluse and immersed himself in the Koran and became a teacher of the Hadith as espoused by the Wahabbists.

Wahhabism is an ultra-conservative branch of Sunni Islam. It is a religious movement among fundamentalist (with an aspiration to return to the primordial fundamental Islamic sources Qur`an, Hadeeth and Scholarly consensus (Ijma)) Islamic believers. Wahhabism was a popular revivalist movement instigated by an eighteenth century theologian, Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab (1703–1792) from Najd, Saudi Arabia.

Sanusi, who is alleged to detests the President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, because according to him, it is anti-islam, was part of a nine man clique of extremists who had a huge following.

A source said, “ when Sanusi returned from Sudan where he associated with very extreme personalities, he was not a happy man. he was treated like an outcast in royal circles because his grandfather, was deposed as Emir of Kano. So his anger grew. “

During that period, the incident of desecration of the Koran by the Akalukas surfaced. According to our source, during that period the Abacha government was not comfortable with the activities of the extremists in Kano, who they view with suspicion.

The regime, it was gathered, silently assassinated a lot of them. Said our source “ When Akaluka was locked up, Sanusi and eight others mobilized some extremist mob who stormed the prison and killed Rebel a.k.a. Unikkatilluka. The regime identified the masterminds, so mandated its hit squad to eliminate the nine, including Sanusi .”

Pointblanknews.com gathered that eight of the masterminds were assassinated by Abacha, but for the intervention of former First Bank chairman, and father of Christmas Day bomber, Alhaji Umar Mutallab and others.

“ It was Muttallab and the rest who were heavy sponsors of Islamic activities who prevailed on Abacha to spare Sanusi. They are argued that since he has gone through a lot, treated like a pariah in the royal circles because his grandfather was deposed, he should be spared. So They decided to remove him from Kano to Sokoto where he was locked up for two years.” Said the source

It was further learnt that after his release from prison, Sanusi was handed over to Mutallab who pushed him into banking because he(Sanusi) had a degree in Economics from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU). From there he moved to the United Bank for Africa, and the First bank, from where he rose quietly until late President Umar Yar’Adua recruited him to head CBN and spearhead the introduction of the Islamic Bank. - @[100484630009668:274:Hope For Nigeria].

Edoid Nation of Nigeria, One Nation in Diversities: Historic Relation and Future Challenges

INTRODUCTION

According to internet Dictionary, there are more than 25 Edoid group of dialects present today in southern Nigeria. Edoid is taken from word Edo. Edo is what the Ancient Benin people spoke and called themselves as stated by Ben-Amos, Paula on Encyclopedia of World Cultures, 1996. quote:
"Edo" is the name that the people of the Ancient Benin Kingdom give to themselves, their language, and their capital city and kingdom. Renowned for their art of brass and ivory and for their complex political organization, the Edo Kingdom of Benin is one of the best known of the pre-colonial kingdoms on the Guinea Coast of West Africa. From at least the fifteenth century, the Benin Empire held varying degrees of authority over neighbouring peoples, including the western Igbo, north-eastern Yoruba, and various related Edo-speaking groups. In 1897 British-colonial forces conquered the kingdom and made it part of the Niger Protectorate. Today it is incorporated into the modern state of Nigeria.

G8 AND THE REST OF US

BY NAIWU OSAHON
It is not by accident that Africa and the rest of the developing world became so massively indebted to the West exactly at the same time.  The control mechanisms are the IMF and the World Bank, and the purpose is to cause as much social dislocation as possible, leading to hunger, diseases and deaths.  The group of seven (G7 or as it is called in recent times, G8) came into being (as G5 in 1976 in Paris) on the eve of the anniversary of one hundred years of the Berlin (1884 – 85) conference on African partition and colonization.  The purpose of the group was to find solutions to the economic difficulties of the West at the time when some economies in the developing world were just beginning to bask in their newfound oil wealth.

The Savage Origin Of Saint Valentine’s Day

In western society, there are a plethora of pseudo holidays that are associated with automatic spending. For instance, Saint Valentine’s Day spending ranges from simple items like Valentine Cards, a box of candy to expensive jewelry and luxurious cars. Significantly, there is never a question asked. Regardless, if you are spouse or significant other. Everyone responds automatically as if its a rite of passage. Perhaps, it would be financially responsible to determine what we are celebrating and most importantly why?

The Fine Art of Penis Thrusting

When it comes to sexual intercourse, many women would be delighted – in more ways than one – if their men viewed thrusting as something more than just a race to the finish line. Thrusting is a wonderful time for loving couples to touch, kiss and even dialogue – whether whispering sweet nothings or engaging in dirty talk. Thrusting can also encourage intimacy and a sense of connection. Couples who believe the sole reason for thrusting is to achieve orgasm often end up suffering from mechanical sex that is devoid of any emotional depth and lasting enjoyment.

Osun: Time to remove religion from public schools

The image of Osun State’s pupils and their religious-sartorial protest, published in various newspapers last week, is an indication that the proscription of religious activities in public schools in Nigeria is overdue. For schoolchildren who, ideally, should be racking their heads to solve mathematical equations – like their mates in other parts of the world – to be used by politicians to fight a proxy war shows that these kids are not getting the right kind of learning.
Talk of the “miseducation” of the Nigerian child. The school is a place where children should learn mutual tolerance. If pupils cannot learn – early enough – to accommodate their mates of other faiths, at what stage of their lives will they do so?
